Everett
1. Kohl Bauml C - Bauml played very well in this specific game, tallying twice and going to the hard areas of the ice despite his smaller stature. Very impressed with the way he navigated through Swift Current bigger, taller defensemen and winning his fair share of battles. May never become a big scorer but impressed with the courage he plays the game with. It's something he will have to keep up if he wants to stay on the radar.
2. Mirco Mueller D - Got my first look at Mirco Mueller tonight and he didn't disappoint. Mueller played a lot of the time with Ryan Murray and as a pair were dynamite. They complement each other very well, with Murray's puckmoving ability and Mueller's length and range. Mueller look very comfortable with the puck tonight and looked to make plays. Mueller should get more exposure as the season goes but I'm starting to think he should make my next top 30, 2013 WHL draft eligible list. Not overly physical but very good with his stick in space.

Swift Current
1. Adam Lowry LW - Lowry is expected to carry the offensive load for the Broncos this season. His team ran hot and cold all night and likely should have scored more than just once tonight but just could not make any plays around the net. Lowry a big body, a power forward in the making. I'm hoping for more from Lowry as tonight he looked good one shift and then long stretches of invisibility. Lowry could use some work on skating and isn't as physical as I would hope he would be, but he does have some soft hands in and around the net.
2. Eetu Laurikainen G - First look at Laurikainen tonight and he did not disappoint. Got beat on a breakaway and on a rebound shot that he could not see the initial shot. Like a typical Finnish goaltender, he looks real smooth, composed and big in the net. Doesn't seem to get rattled and kept the game close for his Broncos team but the Broncos just could not muster a tying goal. I think the Broncos unearthed a gem in Laurikainen and like Mueller, the '93 born goaltender should be heard from a lot more as the season goes on.
